LET’S CLEAN THE YAMUNA
MIHU invoked the youth of the city to shoulder the responsibility of keeping the river clean. A massive cleaning drive was conducted dated 27th March 2011, at LOHA BRIDGE near YAMUNA RIVER by MIHU which caught the attention of the media too. The noteworthy guests and dedicated leaders of the organization appealed to one and all to make the city proud of its natural heritage by conserving the natural resources. Clean Yamuna program was conducted from Morning 10:00 a.m to Evening 5:00 p.m.
HOLI:
HOLI was celebrate on 19th March 2011, with great enthusiasm in Rajiv Nagar (Delhi). MIHU made this celebration meaningful by involving all the children from economically weaker section. Not only they were the star performers in the celebration but the active members of MIHU also taught to make eco-friendly colours and sensitized them about the need to care for the environment.
WOMEN EMPOWERMENT :
A three days program was organized dated 8th March, 2011 on the occasion of International Women’s day to aim the women to come at a common platform for their rights and against exploitation. More than 250 women of Amar Colony (UP) were enlightened about their rights and various empowerment plans initiated by the Govt. Their right to inheritance, right against exploitation, laws against dowry were some of the many issues which were discussed and opined on. The female members of MIHU left no stone unturned to make the most of the WOMEN’S DAY. Women were also educated to know the laws on dowry, rape , house violence and the Anganbadi and rehabilitation program. Women were also taught to come forward and lead to go ahead and help the other girls and women in the society. They were taught to be courageous and not to follow but to lead in the society .They program was concluded by sapling plantation by all the girl/women present there.

MIHU is a dedicated NGO which works entirely for the upliftment of the poor and the needy by extending a helping hand to children and the
senior citizen of the weaker section of the society. MIHU believes that it’s
the duty of the ‘Present’ to take care of ‘The Past’ and nurture the promising
‘Future’ of the society.
Another aim is to make sincere
efforts to bring awareness in the
society towards its rich cultural
heritage and tradition. With this mission in mind, it is constantly engaged in
social, cultural and educational activities.
CULTURAL PROGRAMMES:
The FOUNDER’S Day witnessed MIHUs devoted members participated two days VASANTOTSAVA and SARASWATI PUJA on 8th February 2011.This auspicious occasion became all the more relevant when a group of 40 deserving children were rewarded for their sincerity and performance. The prizes were given away by the senior citizens of the Khajoori colony. Hello Mithila Group performed spectacular songs and group dances which held the audience spellbound.
